A Message from Our Program Director

Consuelo Flores, Program Director

As we welcome the start of a new fiscal year, I want to take a moment to thank our participants, families, caregivers, job coaches, and dedicated staff for another incredible year. Your continued support, trust, and partnership are what make our program successful.

Over the past year, we have celebrated many milestones—from achieving personal goals and building new friendships to exploring our communities, volunteering, and creating lasting memories together. Every accomplishment, no matter how big or small, reflects the determination of our participants and the commitment of those who support them each day.

As we begin this new year, we remain dedicated to providing meaningful opportunities that promote independence, personal growth, community inclusion, and overall well-being. We look forward to introducing new activities, strengthening community partnerships, and continuing to create engaging experiences that help each participant reach their fullest potential.

Thank you for being an important part of our program family. Whether you are a participant working toward your goals, a family member providing encouragement, or a job coach helping create successful experiences, your contributions make a difference every day.

Here's to another year of learning, growing, and celebrating success together. We are excited for all that lies ahead and look forward to sharing another wonderful year with each of you.

Warm regards, Consuelo Flores, Program Director

In the spotlight

Recognizing Ivan for his kindness, leadership, and teamwork

During a recent game of basketball, Ivan demonstrated what it truly means to be a great teammate. He made sure every participant had an opportunity to join in and take a turn, even choosing to give up his own turn so others could participate. His thoughtfulness and encouragement helped everyone feel included and welcomed.

Ivan consistently looks out for his teammates and leads by example through his positive attitude, caring nature, and willingness to support others. His smile, enthusiasm, and kindness make him a valued member of our program each and every day.

Thank you, Ivan, for reminding us that true leadership comes from lifting others up. We are proud to have you as part of the WCP family!

Recognizing Eddie for his teamwork and willingness to lend a helping hand

During one of our Get Safe classes, when multiple groups were gathered in the office, a participant from another group became overwhelmed and had difficulty regulating their emotions. At the same time, staff were assisting another participant who required immediate support. Recognizing the need, Eddie stepped in without hesitation. He engaged the participant in calm conversation, encouraged the use of breathing techniques, and provided reassurance. He also took the initiative to take the participants on a brief break, allowing them time to reset and return in a calmer state.

Eddie's actions exemplify the teamwork, compassion, and initiative that make our program successful. His willingness to step in, support fellow staff, and ensure participants receive the care and attention they need reflects our shared commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment.
